Registrations are now open for the Summer School MEDITERRANEAN BORDERS AND COMMUNICATION STUDIES, in the training itinerary of Geography and Communication for Social Change, led by the University of the Aegean

The aim is to carry out a pilot synthesis of the academic contents developed in the Erasmus+K203 MIGRIMAGE project, combining innovative communication tools and connecting the three areas of the Southern Border where the project is being developed. Topics such as transmedia narratives and social activism, digital and citizen journalism, collective mapping, as well as audiovisual creation as tools for active border research will be discussed. These schools are free of charge and the only requirement is to have a bachelor degree and/or to have a corresponding portfolio and/or to be a professional on the field.

The Summer School led by the University of the Aegean offers the itinerary of Geography and Communication for Social Change.

Within this itinerary, five (5) modules of academic seminars and workshops will be held for three (3) weeks, between 4 and 24 July 2022. Academic seminars will offer theoretical frameworks and analysis of tools and workshops will offer experiential practice of tools, within subjects related to the contents of the School. Module 1 will be online and its contents will be taught in English to encourage the presence of international students; Module 2 will be half online and onsite and will be taught in Greek and Modules 3-5 will be onsite in Mytilene, Lesvos and taught in Greek. 10 ECTS will be recognised and a diploma will be provided.

In addition, there will be seminars offered by the two other Universities in the consortium, the University of Granada (Spain) and the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy), free, ONLINE and in ENGLISH. You can register for one or more of these seminars optionally. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
